The biography of....well....ME!!!!

Who is Freakchylde?
Good question!!! I am a free-spirited, paradox of existence all thrown into one sentient being. A little presumptuous don't you think? Unfortunately, it's the best way I've come up to describe myself. I'm one of those people, who won't betray who I am, to act in accordance with how someone else wants me to act. I have my own set of rules that I live by, many you can find in the Irish triads, and I hold pretty close to them. I'm also a seriously anti-social misanthrope, but for some reason I'm social on occassion, and somehow have friends. I'm HUGE on personal responsibility, even though I can sympathize with someone for their situation, and be willing to help change it, ultimately, all change lies within the individual. Tough love, I guess. On the outside, I look like a hard-core liberal alternative kid. But as you get to know me, you find out I'm only tolerant to an extent, and I'm pretty conservative about a lot of things. :D Needless to say, the minute you think you have me figured out, I might give you a perspective that puts a kink in that thought. I'm simple to understand, as long as you pay attention and don't let your assumptions get in the way. I'm definitely a person you can't assume anything about, other than I will be the person I am.

I've been through a lot in my short time on this planet, but I can honestly say it's been a wonderful learning experience so far. Which, is why I created this site about me. I wanted to share those experiences and what's in my head, with those who want to know, complete with a journal of my daily/weekly ramblings. I like to think I have an interesting perspective on things, as I have a "live and let live" attitude towards most things. Some people take this as me being apathetic, but hey, I just recognize that there are some things you can change, and some things you can only change your reaction towards. No sense dwelling on the things you can't change, instead, use them to your advantage and move forward.

What is it, that interests Freakchylde?
EVERYTHING!!!! My interests range all over the place, from sports to art, to poetry, etc etc. I love to research things, and some of the areas I love to focus on are philosophy, psychology, history and alternative things. My areas of focus are Norse and Celtic mythology/history, BDSM, piercings and indigenous healing arts. I love being outdoors and hiking or just being active. Most of my picture gallery is comprised of my travels, check them out. I'm also an athlete, and seriously competative. As a kid I played ice and floor hockey, volleyball, football (soccer), tennis, basketball as well as captained a competition gymnastics team. In college I broke the gender barrier and played on my all-male collegiate hockey team. Currently, I'm having fun learning Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and being part of the Gracie-Barra Atlanta Competition Team. Outside of that, I climb rocks for the fun of it.

I also love to learn things, whether through book-reading or experiences. My main point in everything I do is to learn something, whether it be about myself or about a subject. I'm also a language junkie. I love learning how different cultures use words to communicate, and as a result speak and read several languages, including a non-Latinite dead language. Currently, I'm working on adding another language, but that's a secret for now.

What titles does Freakchylde hold?
Well, education-wise I was in the "Who's who among High School Students" 2 years in a row. I'm a member of the National German Honours Society as well as a Texas Scholar's award winner. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English and a minor degree in German from Illinois State University, where I studied Linguistics and Literature of both English and German. I also have certifications in Massage, Neuromuscular Therapy and Assisted Thai Yoga. Needless to say, I have a lot of acronyms after my name.

Is Freakchylde religious?
Resounding HELL YEAH! I'm not of the Abrahamic faiths, though. For lack of better terminology, and the Gaelig confuses people, I'm a Celtic Reconstructionist of the Irish traditions. Which is where I get the Irish triads that I mentioned earlier, as well as the background and header image for this site. I'm a dedicated warrior/poet daughter of the Mhorrighain and walking the path to being a Priest of that tradition. I'm not one of those weekend faithful, this is an every day, 24 hour path that you can see glimpses of in everything I do - from my work, to my fighting, to how I interact with people on a daily basis.

What if I want to date Freakchylde?
Then it sounds like you have a personal problem to me. Right now, I have no interest in any type of serious relationship. I really don't have the time. Between work and my fight training, I have 2 full-time jobs, which means only enough time to take care of myself and not any time outside of that to invest in developing a serious full-time relationship with someone outside of me. I'm at a pivot point in my life, and the goal is to have fun. If you mesh with me enough that I'd be interested in letting you share some of my adventures, rock on. But don't get your hopes up. I have extremely high standards in what I look for (my therapist says they're too high), and I'm extremely independent, which I've found ends up being a turn-off as much as it seems to be a turn-on in the beginning. I'm not here to be conquered, caged or dominated, nor do I wish to be in the company of someone who wishes to be any of that. If you like being a lifestyle doormat, there are people who are lifestyle Dommes who will provide that for you, I am not one of them, my kinks stay in the bedroom. I'm just here to exist and enjoy my life, and those I wish to share it with, however short or long that time may be.

What if I want to be friends with Freakchylde?
Cool, I'm always up for getting to know new people. However, I will say that I proceed with caution. I'm guarded in what I let be known about me, however much I am open about who I am. There are many deep layers to who I am, and I let those layers be seen as I get comfy with folks. I'm a tried and true Scorpio, so feel free to look up stuff about that sign, most of it is true about me. I like to go with the flow of things, and most of the time, it's the flow of what I need or want to do at any given point in time. I don't respond well to demands, unless you're my boss or my lover (at which point it becomes whether or not it is a just demand). I will give you my time as I have room too, unless there is the need for support, in which case, it becomes as I'm capable. My job requires that I give a lot of myself, so most of my time outside of that and fighting is time I give to myself. Once I'm taken care of, I give freely to others. Selfish? Of course. If there's one thing I've learned so far, it's that ultimately the one person who is guaranteed to take care of me, is me. I have yet to meet someone I would trust with my care should I become completely dependent upon someone else for decision-making and bodily care. Don't assume you'll be that person, else you'll be sadly disappointed. And be who you are, I don't tolerate fake people that well and tend to get rid of them fairly quickly. Have fun and celebrate who you are, depressed people bring me down, and I've spent a long enough time in that rut to the point I don't wish to go back. I'm not the perpetual therapist, I get paid to do that, last thing I want to do in my free time is do my job. I believe in reciprocation, if you're there for me when I need someone, I'll be there for you when you need someone.
